Discuss the social and economic transformation of Harlem over the years. How is the setting different today than it was in "Thank You M'am?"
Option 2: Langston Hughes, the author of "Thank You M'am," is a significant person in history. Type a one page research paper describing his contributions to society. Also, describe the Harlem Renaissance and the types of art forms popular during this period. Explain how Langston Hughes' works fit into this historical setting.

Language Arts: Don't forget to study for tomorrow's test on the short story "Thank You M'am." The test will assess your comprehension of the story, as well as the vocabulary that goes along with it. To study, you can reference your book, the two handouts with questions we reviewed in class, the graphic organizer, and the context sentences. You can also study using the vocabulary resources posted on the blog on September 25th 2013. Be sure to study the words for the Language Arts class, not Advanced Language Arts.
