Option 1: The setting of “Thank You, M’am” is Harlem, New York City. Type a one page research paper explaining how and when Harlem was established as an African-American community. Discuss the social and economic transformation of Harlem over the years. How is the setting different today than it was in "Thank You M'am?"
Option 2: Langston Hughes, the author of "Thank You M'am," is a significant person in history. Type a one page research paper describing his contributions to society. Also, describe the Harlem Renaissance and the types of art forms popular during this period. Explain how Langston Hughes' works fit into this historical setting.
